EFR and You

As everyone is aware, Diving is a dangerous hobby. Although you have received first class training from our specialist dive instructors, no amount of class work or practice can truly prepare you for the unexpected – and when the unexpected does happen, how would you react?

This is where Emergency First Response is prime. Should the unthinkable happen to your buddy (which hopefully it never will), the EFR course trains you beyond that of PADI, BSAC and all other diving associations and shows you how to respond in a way that might just save someone’s life.

We all know by know that getting a diver to the surface and out of the water is only half the battle. Once they are on land, whole new challenges surface – excuse the pun. From Primary Care such as CPR to secondary care and first aid administration, the skills you will learn aren’t only applicable to your scuba diving but to all aspects of life. You will become a  certified first aider, able to react to people collapsing in public as well as an unresponsive diver on the surface.

Waterfront Scuba is proud to announce that we will be holding an EFR Training session on Sunday 22nd February during which you will be shown how to react in various situations as well as demonstrating your understanding. You will learn vital skills in using AED’s (automatic External Defibrillator) and administering emergency oxygen as well as injury and illness assessment and many other critical skills and assets.

If you want to learn all of this and much more, or are already an EFR specialist and looking for a refresher, contact the store today to book your place. For more information please visit www.emergencyfirstresponse.com or visit the event page on Facebook.
